Minnesota has a hold on writers and directors Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen. Jensen, who was born and raised in Detroit Lakes, and Blank, who attended college at Macalester and the University of Minnesota, are now based in Brooklyn. The two have amassed an impressive repertoire of work throughout their career so far (does The Exonerated sound familiar?), with projects in film, TV, and theater. When they got the opportunity to make a movie based in Minnesota, they took it and ran with it.
