The Liberty on Saturday experienced their first hiccup of the season. New York couldn’t stop the Fever’s 3-point barrage that was led by Caitlin Clark. In her first game back since suffering a quad injury, Clark scored 32 points and made seven of Indiana’s season-high 17 3-pointers. Defensive breakdowns, most notably in the second half, led to open looks for Indiana, and the Liberty couldn’t recover as they fell 102-88.

When the dust finally settled on the PWHL’s expansion draft this week, Sirens general manager Pascal Daoust took a step back to assess the damage. While many teams saw their defensive corps attacked by Vancouver and Seattle, New York suffered hits mostly on the front end. The Sirens lost two of their top forwards, Alex Carpenter and Jessie Eldridge, along with their No. 1 goalie Corinne Schroeder to Seattle. And Vancouver took rookie forward Gabby Rosenthal.

INDIANAPOLIS — The Liberty’s nine-game win streak came to an end Saturday as they fell 102-88 to the Fever. The loss has implications for the Commissioner’s Cup standings, too. The Liberty are 9-1 this season and 3-1 in the Commissioner’s Cup games. The Fever are also 3-1, but they hold the head-to-head tiebreaker.

No Jonquel Jones at practice today. Sandy Brondello said the center was there earlier before it was opened to the media but she didn't participate. Jones questionable for tomorrow's game vs. Sky. Nyara Sabally is expected to play.
