There are some players, who despite making it to the squads, somehow don’t get enough match time. Washington Sundar is one such player, who despite having exceptional batting skills and equally good bowling skills, doesn’t play as often. Four years after making his Test debut, the 25-year-old has only managed to play 9 encounters. In those matches, he has scored 468 runs, at an average of 42 with four fifties to his name, as well as 25 wickets at a strike-rate of 47.

Even though the IPL 2025 is resuming on May 17, it seems the BCCI is yet to take a call if it wants to continue with the DJ and cheerleaders, in the remainder of the matches. This has happened after Sunil Gavaskar urged the board to cut down on these things, as per a report in India Today. That means, a few teams are also likely to be impacted due to this.

The cat is out of the bag. In what comes as a good news for Shubman Gill’s GT, England batter Jos Butter and South Africa’s Gerald Coetzee are all set to be back for the IPL 2025, on May 14. The tournament is scheduled to restart on the 17th of the month, after it was stopped midway a few days back. Interestingly, Buttler and Coetzee were the only two foreign players from the squad who had left India. The likes of Rashid Khan, Sherfane Rutherford, Kagiso Rabada, and Karim Janat were in India only.
