Minnesota officials on Thursday confirmed plans to provide $3.5 million in state money to help Dutch health tech giant Philips expand its operations in Plymouth. Philips Image Guided Therapy, a division of Philips, will use the funds to expand its Plymouth facility that opened in 2019. Company representatives said the move is expected to add 158 new jobs at the plant, which employs about 300 people today.

I was at Target Field bright and early on a Wednesday morning, eager to see new stadium entrance technology that the Twins touted as a way to “improve the fan experience of attending games.” It was the day before Twins’ first game of their 2025 season. Arriving at the stadium with a srum of reporters, I went on to the MLB Ballpark app and snapped a picture of my face, enrolling myself into the new “Go-Ahead Entry” program.

About 33 million Americans have at least one food allergy, according to nonprofit group Food Allergy Research & Education. Some of these people have multiple food allergies, taking extra precaution whenever they eat. Angie Nelson worried for her son Liam after finding out he was born with food allergies. Instead of sitting back and trying to find options for him, Nelson created her own business: Safer Plate, which she would later rename after her son.

Minnesota’s Department of Employment and Economic Development this week announced two new programs aimed at supporting new cannabis businesses. The two programs are known as CanNavigate and CanStartup, and they’ll disburse $2 million and $6 million, respectively, to cannabis entrepreneurs. The programs are geared towards “social equity business owners and entrepreneurs from disproportionately impacted communities,” according to DEED.
