OCEAN CITY, MD. - Dredging in the Ocean City Inlet is set to begin today, according to the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR). When WBOC visited the site this morning, the dredger ship was floating along the shore of the inlet ready to start its work. According to the Maryland DNR, the dredging will occur between the Isle of Wight and the Inlet channels. Brian Behe, a boater from the Sunset Marina, says he's ready to see the work begin.

DORCHESTER CO., MD. - The Cambridge Police Department is currently investigating two shooting incidents from over the weekend. According to a statement from the department, the first incident occurred just after 4:30 on Saturday morning, when Cambridge officers responded to a report of multiple shots fired on Pine St. Police officials say they located a 19-year-old Easton man with a gunshot wound in the leg near the reported location.

CHINCOTEAGUE, VA - While the life-sized pony swim won't begin until Wednesday, a miniature one has already begun at Tom's Cove Campground. Salisbury local Elsie H. Jones, who spends much of her summers with family at the campground, designed a miniature model of the town of Chincoteague, including the beloved Pony Swim. Jones says she started designing the model last winter. She was inspired by some of the tiny buildings that she had purchased from an estate sale.

TALBOT CO, MD. - The Town of Oxford is looking for suggestions on what to add to their new community park. According to a post on the community's Facebook page, the town obtained a grant to renovate the unused baseball field behind the Oxford Community Center into a useable community space. The post says that, after a public discussion held on site on June 21st, town leaders want to give the Oxford community one last chance to input suggestions on how best to use the space.

DORCHESTER CO., MD. - A Cambridge man has been charged on multiple counts after Cambridge Police Department officers responded to an assault call on Wednesday afternoon. The call came at 12:55pm after two victims on Muir St. reported they had been assaulted by three men, according to the Cambridge Police Department. The department says that one of the suspects held the victims at gunpoint.
