Some 40 years after making the cult classic American Gigolo together, legendary writer of Taxi Driver and Raging Bull, Paul Schrader and Hollywood legend Richard Gere are once again reunited for Oh Canada. Based on Russell Banks’ novel “Foregone”, Oh Canada tells the story of a dying artist’s during his final hours, Leonard Fife (Richard Gere), as he finally tries to reveal the truth about his life to his wife, Emma, played by Uma Thurman. Russel Banks died in 2023 of cancer.

Based on Patrick Radden Keefe's international best seller “Say Nothing: A True Story of Murder and Memory in Northern Ireland”, the series mostly takes place in West Belfast during the Troubles. The show starts in the 1960s, with the abduction and murder of Jean McConville, a single mother taken away by the IRA in front of her children.

Directed by Ben Taylor, Joy tells the story of the three scientists who invented the process of IVF (in vitro fertilization) in the 1960s and 1970s. These pioneers were surgeon Patrick Steptoe (Bill Nighy), Robert Edwards, a scientist (James Norton), and a nurse and embryologist, Jean Purdy (Thomasin McKenzie). Purdy’s work was almost completely erased by the scientific community, largely composed of men at the time.

David Lowery (The Green Knight, Pete’s Dragon) kicked off the holiday season this year with his latest short movie An Almost Christmas Story, now available to stream on Disney+. Produced by Alfonso Cuarón and Gabriela Rodríguez, An Almost Christmas Story is the last Christmas short in the three-part holiday series produced by Cuarón, after Le Pupille (2022), directed by Alice Rohrwacher and The Sheperd (2023), by Iain Softley.
