Recently, a construction crew member working in Manhattan’s Lower East Side noticed something fuzzy huddled on the job site. Getting a closer look, the worker found three tiny kittens all by themselves. The crew member called Animal Haven, a nonprofit rescue organization, for backup. Rescuers quickly headed to the scene. They knew they had to act fast, as the construction area would soon close for the weekend, leaving the babies vulnerable and alone.
