Lexington’s Historical Commission voted to impose a 21-month demolition delay on the house at 25 Moon Hill Road, a historic mid-century modern property listed on the National Register of Historic Places, during its meeting on Wednesday. Yvette Beeman, a Lexington resident, and her business partner Krassi Diehl, a general contractor, are buying the property.

The mid-century modern house at 25 Moon Hill Road in Lexington, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, will be presented to the town’s Historical Commission for demolition on Jan. 15. The contemporary build was the first of 28 houses on Moon Hill Road designed by Walter Gropius, a founder of The Architects Collaborative, or TAC, a Cambridge-based architecture firm deemed one of the most influential of the twentieth century.

Lexington and Concord made the New York Times’ annual list of “52 Places to Go in 2025” because of the towns’ upcoming events celebrating the 250th anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord this year. On NYT’s list, Lexington shares space with exotic destinations such as the Galápagos Islands in Ecuador, the Dolomite Mountains in Italy, the Lofoten Islands in Norway, and more.

Lexington’s annual town election is slated for March 3 and several major office positions and Town Meeting member seats are open. Each precinct has at least seven Town Meeting member seats open, most of which are for three-year terms, but a few of which are for two and one year terms.
