    The Dubuque County Board of Supervisors members scrapped their original ideas for fiscal year 2026 property tax levies March 4 in favor of more limited cuts to the secondary roads budget. The board finalized a proposed county budget for the next fiscal year, which begins July 1, that attempts to keep the countywide property tax levy the same at the current fiscal year but increase the rural basic levy more than originally anticipated to offset funding shortfalls.
