    News Isabel Martin has joined Little, Brown as commissioning editor for Sphere Fiction. Martin will report to Sphere Fiction publishing director Jack Butler, and starts her new role on 12th May. She will acquire across crime and thriller genres and support the publishing of some of Sphere’s biggest brand authors. Martin has been at Headline for three years, working with authors including Steve Cavanagh, SA Cosby, Maz Evans and Louise Minchin.

    Creatives and industry leaders have signed an open letter urging Prime Minister Keir Starmer to enforce copyright law. The news follows the rejection in the Commons on Wednesday (7th May) of an amendment to the Data (Use and Access) Bill, which would ensure copyright law was adhered to by tech companies. The amendment would create a requirement for AI firms to tell copyright owners which individual works they have ingested.
