    PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - Calm Source is expanding its services to Pittsylvania County to help people who are struggling with mental health or addiction and fill a need in the rural area. The nonprofit opened its doors in Danville in 2015. Calm Source helps people who suffer from issues with mental health, behavioral health, or addiction. They also offer free services to veterans.

    HENRY COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - Rain or shine, volunteers with the Henry County Food Pantry hand out food to around 300 families in need every Monday. A line of cars wraps around the entire building waiting to receive free food for households of four, including fruit, vegetables, meat, and more. On the inside of the building are free clothes, household items, and other supplies that Henry County resident Sharon Poe is grateful for.

    HALIFAX COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ/Gray News) - A young calf is thriving after she was saved by a family from being abandoned in a dumpster. Katie Jo is almost twice the size as she was when she was rescued by her new family. It was the morning of Nov. 13 when her fate changed. On a routine trash trip, Halifax County resident Mike Lloyd stumbled upon the newborn calf at the bottom of one of the metal bins. “I didn’t think she was going to make it, I’ll put it that way,” explained Mike Lloyd.
