This was a mixed methods explanatory sequential design [15], where we used retrospective cohort study research design to collect and analyse quantitative data on the social demographic characteristics and follow up outcomes of FSWs initiated on PrEP first and later collected qualitative data to contextualise findings of the quantitative data.

Here we present a secondary analysis of data collected during the Childhood Acute Illness and Nutrition (CHAIN) cohort study. The CHAIN study enrolled children 2 to 23 months old at the time of admission to hospital for any acute illness (excluding trauma, poisoning, and complications of congenital defects), at nine sites across sub-Saharan Africa and South East Asia, between November 2016 and January 2019 [22].

Fifteen districts (five districts from each region) were included in the study, providing a total study population (denominator) of 5,348,308 people. The majority of the study population and registered cancer cases were from Central region, followed by Western region and Eastern region respectively (see Table 1).

AbstractAdolescent girls and young women (AGYW) in sub-Saharan Africa face a disproportionately higher HIV/AIDS burden despite the global decline in incidence. Existing interventions often fail to adequately address their unique social, economic, and cultural challenges, limiting access to essential HIV/AIDS services, including HIV testing.

Quantitative data from 434 respondents was analyzed and the median age of participants was 33 (IQR: 25–50) years. More than half of them were females; 246(56.7%), and the majority lived in urban areas; 279 (64.3%). Only 119(27.4%) of the individuals were considered knowledgeable about Hepatitis B(HepB). A little over half of the individuals believed they were at risk of getting Hepatitis B; 233(53%), and most knew about the mass vaccination campaign; 326 (75.1%).
