To the Members of the United States House of Representatives: The U.S. Chamber of Commerce strongly supports H.R. 6655, A Stronger Workforce for America Act, which would modernize America's workforce system. The Chamber will consider including votes on this legislation in our "How They Voted" Congressional scorecard. The current workforce system has not been responsive enough to the changing job needs and the evolving skill demands of employers.

Next week, the U.S. House of Representatives is expected to consider A Stronger Workforce for America Act (H.R. 6655), bipartisan legislation developed by House Education and the Workforce Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC-5) and Ranking Member Bobby Scott (D-VA-3), to reauthorize and revamp the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, or "WIOA" (P.L. 113-128).

First, there are advantages to these individuals who can get a fresh start supporting and taking care of themselves and their families. Second, employers can benefit by tapping into a talented labor force to meet their workforce needs.

These figures represent a record high since the inception of RSM’s quarterly Middle Market Business Index (MMBI) survey in 2015.
