Before it was Sun-Ray, it was a conglomerate of entertainment-based businesses going in and out, making its mark in history each step of the way.

Words by Mallory PaceOne night, as I was scrolling on TikTok into the late hours of the night, delusion and paranoia high, I switched over to Google, where I found a quiz: “Do I have OCD?.” Somehow, my TikTok feed algorithm had become flooded with videos on “signs you have obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD),” and I started getting concerned that I was relating to so many of these videos. As I took the first quiz suggested on Google, I started thinking about the validity of what I was doing.

You may think of a pocket watch being dangled in front of someone’s face as they fall deeper and deeper into a trance, then suddenly slump over at the snap of a finger, and when they come to, they’re left confused over the last few minutes they were blacked out for.

Words by Mallory PaceThe neighborhoods of Jacksonville offer something for everyone. There’s Downtown, where buildings fill the skyline and beams of LED illuminate the vibrancy of its nightlife. Riverside has edge, as if by day it’s all bookstores and coffee shops, but at night the tortured artists all gather at underground bars and speakeasies, sipping Kava and having orgies. San Marco feels like a quaint, quiet town sheltered by trees and locally-owned boutiques.
