LEXINGTON, Tenn.—In Lexington, one organization is celebrating Juneteenth with a special event. United Minds of Lexington hosts its Juneteenth Freedom Day. The event kicked off at 11 in the morning at 125 Montgomery Way. Organizers say it’s important to celebrate the Juneteenth holiday, and what better way than time spent with loved ones, enjoying delicious food, and fun activities for all ages. This year’s event was extra special as it also includes a BBQ cook-off.

JACKSON, Tenn.—One local organization is celebrating first responders!Elks Lodge #192 is giving back to those who sacrifice so much for others. The lodge offered an appreciation lunch Saturday from 10 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon at 28 Executive Drive in Jackson. The members of the lodge provided burgers, hotdogs and all the delicious sides to local police, firefighters, sheriff deputies and other first responders.

LEXINGTON, Tenn.—One local city revs up some fun to kick off the first official weekend of Summer! The ‘Fire on the Water Boat Races’ is happening this weekend at Beech Lake in Lexington. The races kicked off at 9 in the morning and the event is drawing a crowd! Spectators are fired up to see boats drag race across the lake and tickets are 10 dollars per person.

JACKSON, Tenn.—Dads head out to the Rockabillys Stadium to celebrate Father’s Day. The Jackson Rockabillys took on the Normal Cornbelters Sunday evening and before the game a special time was set aside in celebration of Father’s Day. Dads in the crowd were invited to take the field to play catch with their kids. A memory that both parties could remember and cherish days to come. The Rockabilly baseball action officially began at 7.

JACKSON, Tenn.–And the Miss Volunteer America opening festivities continue with a Meet and Greet. A meet and greet was held Sunday at 7. The event happened at Hub City Brewing located at 250 West Main Street in Jackson. At the event, all 51 contestants who will be competing to take home the title of Miss Volunteer America 2026 were present. Guests could take selfies with the contestants or even have their programs signed.

JACKSON, Tenn.—Opening ceremonies for the Miss Volunteer America Pageant kicks off in the Hub City. The ceremony began at 3 Sunday afternoon at the Ned. At the event, the 51 state titleholders were introduced to the crowd. Each contestant presents their state flags and introduces the state princess. Admission to the event is free and open to the public.

JACKSON, Tenn.—The State Games of Tennessee continued Sunday in Jackson with disc golf. The disc golf tournament was a two-day event beginning on Saturday and continuing Sunday morning. In disc golf, players compete by tossing a disc at a target, aiming to complete a course of 9 or 18 ‘holes’, in the fewest throws possible. Sunday’s tournament took place at the Bend on Highland located at 40 Match Point Drive.

JACKSON, Tenn.—Music lovers unite for the return of a family-friendly event in the Hub City. The Jax-Mac Festival took place Saturday at the Amp from 2 until 8 in the evening. The event, presented by Don’t Waste My Time Music Inc., features local artists performing various genres of music. There are food trucks and vendors on site selling all sorts of items. Games were also available to enjoy.
