IntroductionMenstrual health is a significant public health concern in India but was largely unaddressed by governments, NGOs, and businesses until the early 2000s. Since then, India has made significant advances in ensuring good menstrual health and hygiene (MHH) for women and girls. Between 2005 and 2010, the government integrated MHH into the role of Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA)[a] as part of the National Rural Health Mission.
