The goal of this project is to use a conical pick to accomplish a linear coal cutting operation. Conical picks are used to extract coal from mines. It is divided into two zones, hardened steel body and abrasive cemented carbide tip. For coal cutting purpose, shaper machine was used in this study. The linear cutting was done at various tilt angles of the conical pick.
