    After around $290 million to help get President Donald Trump elected, billionaire Elon Musk is leaving the White House. But the numerous lawsuits he racked up for himself over the last 130 days may not be going anywhere. “As my scheduled time as a Special Government Employee comes to an end, I would like to thank President [Trump] for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending,” Musk said last week in announcing his departure.

    The Department of Justice no longer represents the best interests of the American people. Under Bondi, it has been transformed into little more than a cog in the authoritarian machine doing Donald Trump’s bidding. It has abandoned independent judgment and fealty to the law and replaced it with unquestioned obedience to the White House. After only five months in office, Trump has transformed the Department of Justice into an  instrument for voter suppression. This should come as no surprise.

My loyal companion Bode passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, from canine lymphoma — just one month shy of his ninth birthday. I know everyone thinks their dog is the best but Bode truly was the best dog ever. Bode bounded into my life in July 2016 and never left my side.
