West was in the Olympic Conference National Division race until a late-May 4-1 loss to eventual champion Bishop Eustace. The Lions also qualified for the South Jersey Group 3 playoffs, only to face a talented Ocean City team in the first round. Ocean City, led by Alabama commit Evan Taylor, beat West, 6-3. Taylor struck out 10 in six innings.

    Franklin senior Arden Gray picked an opportune time to have a personal best mark in the triple jump. A Hampton commit, Gray leaped 40-3 in her second of three jumps in the final segment of the triple jump at the outdoor track Meet of Champions at Pennsauken. “I knew it was going to be a challenge, there were about five of us who were right there and I just had to focus on myself and not worry about everybody else,” Gray said.

Holley jumped a personal best 19-8 in the preliminaries to earn her second Meet of Champions long jump title this season. She was also the indoor champion with a jump of 19-2, which had been her best markJust last week she won the Non-Public A state title with a jump of 18-9.25, which was her best mark outdoors.
