The Trump administration’s Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, who is leading U.S. nuclear talks with Iran, again suggested on Monday that the U.S. is willing to allow Iran to maintain some level of nuclear enrichment, as it did during the original 2015 nuclear deal. But Witkoff appeared to walk back those remarks on Tuesday, saying that the U.S. is demanding that Iran eliminate its enrichment and weaponization programs.

Reps. Claudia Tenney (R-NY) and Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) are set to reintroduce legislation on Wednesday that would bar federal agencies from contracting with companies engaged in boycotts of Israel. The Countering Hate Against Israel by Federal Contractors Act would require federal contractors entering into new contracts with the federal government to certify that they are not engaged in a boycott of Israel. It is modeled on legislation and executive orders in place in nearly 40 states.

Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) and Mikie Sherrill (D-NJ) responded on Monday to claims by a Hamas spokesperson that the terror group had lost contact with the group holding Edan Alexander, an American citizen from New Jersey, hostage inside Gaza. The Hamas spokesperson claimed that it had lost contact with Alexander’s captors following an Israeli airstrike.
