The 78th Cannes Film Festival starts today on the French Riviera, celebrating global cinema. This year’s festival features 22 films in the main competition, including entries from acclaimed directors such as Joachim Trier, Wes Anderson, Julia Ducournau, Kleber Mendonça Filho and Ari Aster. Two Spanish productions, Sirat by Óliver Laxe and Romería by Carla Simón, are competing, marking the first time since 2009 that two Spanish films have been in the main competition.
