British Touring Car Championship rookie Charles Rainford became the West Surrey Racing BMW team’s third winner of the day with victory in the finale at Brands Hatch. From third on the grid, Rainford worked his way past the front-row-sitting team-mate Jake Hill and reversed-grid poleman Dan Rowbottom within just over a lap of the start, and held on throughout.

The teenage Anglo-Filipino tin-top talent Daryl DeLeon took a sensational maiden British Touring Car Championship victory in a wild second race at Brands Hatch. DeLeon was in the right place at the right time, on the right tyres and armed with a sack of TOCA Turbo Boost, when the race resumed following a safety-car-infested middle stage.

Jake Hill kickstarted his bid for a second successive British Touring Car Championship crown by sailing to victory in the first race of the day at Brands Hatch. Hill led home his team-mate within the West Surrey Racing-run BMW stable, the extremely impressive rookie Charles Rainford, to claim the honours by 0.662 seconds. From pole, it was no surprise that rear-wheel-drive traction propelled Hill into the lead at the start, nor that Rainford converted his front-row spot into second place.

Reigning British Touring Car champion Jake Hill has warned that his BMW is still lacking pace despite leading a team 1-2 in qualifying for the second round at Brands Hatch. The West Surrey Racing team and its 330i M Sports were disappointing in the opening round at Donington Park, the first since the removal of the hybrid. Although this has lightened the cars by 55kg, it has negatively impacted the 3-Series in terms of ballast distribution.

My prediction on Alpine/Renault/Lotus/Benetton/Toleman: by end of 2025 the line-up will be Derek Warwick and Brian Henton.

Fact: if elected, Carlos Sainz Sr would become the first person to have raced in the Formula Ford Festival to become FIA president.

He can't become president - he's King Carlos already! But seriously… Vamos!

Exclusive: Carlos Sainz Sr is considering running against Mohammed Ben Sulayem to be FIA president Full story ⬇️ https://t.co/tpZhoSxIcM
