In a matter of days, Jared Kropielnicki and Brody Wakaruk will descend upon Edmonton's Walterdale Hill in a soapbox car. "We built the frame completely out of aluminum," Kropielnicki said. "The body is all fibreglass, that was quite the challenge." The team from Vegreville is aiming for a podium finish at the annual Red Bull Soapbox Race 2024.

A produce company with Edmonton roots has found big success with tiny potatoes. The Little Potato Company unveiled its new $39.5 million facility in Nisku on Thursday. The new 420,000-square-foot building can distribute up to 125 million pounds of potatoes each year. "It’s state of the art," said founder Angela Santiago.

More than 40 First Nations are hitting the ice this week for the 31st annual Native Hockey Alberta Provincial Championships. Organizers say the tournament has grown so rapidly over the last few years that finding enough ice time for everyone has become a challenge. Jessica Goodrunning is watching her two sons represent Sunchild First Nation. "I looked forward to this tournament every year," she said.
