AbstractUnderstanding key stakeholders' perceptions around the value of baseline testing, as well as barriers or facilitators experienced as part of the process, may assist with the decision-making process of whether to implement baseline testing in community sport. This study explored coaches, players and physiotherapists' perceptions of the perceived value, barriers and facilitators of baseline testing as part of New Zealand Rugby's (NZR) community concussion initiative.

MethodsThis cross-sectional study is the third component of a larger project designed to formally assess the impact of the 27 Statements published before 2019. The survey design and administration approach was based on a previous survey with the same target respondents.5 Participants provided their consent on the initiation of the survey questions. The study addresses the issue of representation and utility of the IOC consensus statements globally with sports medicine staff as target respondents.

This theme describes how the IOC Statements are seen to be shared and accessed. Specifically, the interviewees describe their awareness of different topics covered and any barriers or enablers to accessing the IOC Statements. There was no formal dissemination pathway to share the IOC Statements from the IOC to the NOC described by any participant. There was recognition that sharing the IOC Statements should be the role of the IOC, the NOC or other national professional sports medicine agencies.
