    I’m not a good Goodbye Girl. Not especially great at making an exit, leaving, or letting go. But the last few months have been a different sort of transition for me, professionally and personally, too. This feels more like moving forward, heading toward something that will enable me to develop other perspectives, and make time for new ideas and experiences from a different place.     I think it needs to be said that business by the end of 2022, for pretty much everyone, was challenging. It was not one of those years where people sailed through the second half easily, calculating just how well they’d meet or exceed rosy projections. Inflation reared its head by the second half, people started talked about the costs of daily living going up, the Fed and the ‘R’ word (they’re still talking about the ‘R’ word, ‘recession’).

Summer breaks are over, people get back to school, back to business, back to forecasting for the year-end and the next years ahead. On the one hand it seems that this year flew, one of the fastest-feeling ever, perhaps because of the swift pace of monumental events—environmental, cultural, political, economic and inflation-crunched.
