EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — The City Of El Paso wants the public's input as it looks at new ways to make areas in and around schools safer. Several schools around El Paso are expected to benefit from the Safe Routes to School Action Plan which will be presented Monday to City Council. One city official said the purpose of this plan is to increase safety for all around school zones and, improve the health of residents.

Joel Bishop said those types of improvements focus at making sure people who get out of jail stay on the right track along with better training for law enforcement.

An unveiling ceremony to launch pop-up locations at county facilities for the enhanced library card program is expected to take place Tuesday morning. The pop-up locations to be announced will serve El Paso residents living outside of city limits who will be using those cards.
