    It’s almost impossible to not feel the buzz surrounding the upcoming presidential election, whether you’re on the Diag,  State Street or just about anywhere on campus. Tables line the sidewalks around academic buildings, populated with students asking if you’ve registered to vote. Even in my classes — which, admittedly, are policy and politics related — it seems that I can’t go to a lecture without jumping into some form of discussion regarding the election.

    In addition to housing the University of Michigan, the city of Ann Arbor is complemented by its diverse food scene and vibrant, small-town atmosphere. While boutique restaurants like Aventura or Mani Osteria get great remarks, for most college students, dining at these places is a treat due to their higher price tags. After freshman year, a majority of students will move off campus and out of the residence halls, leaving the student body without consistent access to the dining halls.

As a result, heated debates seem to arise more frequently. These conversations and the need to come to a conclusion can often expose the difference between what Americans know and what they think they know — a sharp contrast known as political overconfidence.
