The King Family announces a Candlelight Musical Experience celebrating the life and legacy of Dexter Scott King, son of Dr. Martin Luther King. Jr. and Mrs. Coretta Scott King. The service for King will be held at Ebenezer Baptist Church on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 6:30pm. It will be open to the public. According to the King Center, the service will be broadcast live and streamed on Fox5 WAGA Atlanta and Facebook, YouTube and on the King Center's website.

Events are being held in Atlanta to honor the life of Rosalynn Carter, wife of former U.S. President Jimmy Carter. She died on November 19, two days after going into hospice care following an earlier diagnosis of dementia. The body of the former first lady will lie in repose today at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum. The public can pay their respects from 6p to 10pm tonight. Former President Jimmy Carter is expected to attend his wife's memorial service Tuesday in Atlanta.

By Maria Boynton Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter has died at age 96. Carter was the wife of 39th U.S. President Jimmy Carter. The family announced last week that Mrs. Carter was entering hospice care after being diagnosed with dementia earlier this year. According to the Carter Center, Carter died Sunday afternoon surrounded by family at home in Plains, GA.

Kiran Kimbrough is no longer employed by the Atlanta Police Department. Kimbrough is accused of using a taser on 62 year old Johnny Hollman on August 10, 2023 following a minor traffic accident. The Fulton County Medical Examiner ruled Hollman's death was a homicide. Hollman's family has been outspoken in calling for the officer to be fired and for the body cam video to be released. They had an hour-long meeting with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis Monday.
