1. IntroductionCoronavirus 2019 disease (COVID-19) is caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). It was first described in December 2019 in Wuhan, China, and since then, it has been plaguing the world population, testing the healthcare systems of all countries. Three years after its onset, in December 2022, there were over 656 million confirmed cases and over 6.6 million deaths reported worldwide [1].
