The SEC released the slate of home and away conference games for each member with the Lady Vols set to play Mississippi State twice in 2025-26 and the other 14 teams once. Tennessee will host Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Missouri, Texas, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt and play Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss and South Carolina on the road for a total of 16 SEC games. Dates, times and television information will be released later.

Last week’s column took a look at three softball players who will arrive from the transfer portal to Tennessee. This week’s column takes a peek at the six freshmen who have signed their paperwork to be Lady Vols, will enroll soon and play their first official college softball season in 2026. The six pack of players is rated as the No. 2 class in the country with four players ranked in the top 25 in the high school class of 2025.

The softball team has returned home after an extended stay in Oklahoma City to reach the semifinals of the Women’s College World Series. While the players will scatter soon for a bit of a break, it won’t be too long before fall ball. The Lady Vols already have secured three players from the transfer portal who will join a core group of returnees when workouts start in the fall in preparation for the 2026 season.
