EVANS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The 34th annual People of Parkinson’s Walk will be happening on Friday at Augusta’s First Baptist Church. Before the walk, people at a local retirement community got to take part in their own festivities. “We love to show our support for the neighbors in our community that have Parkinson’s that helps to build morale, and just let them know that there is a group of people here who support this,” said Katie Munn, Aegis Therapies.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - More than 500 participants from Augusta and beyond are ready to hit the road this Sunday in the fight against cancer. Paceline is an Augusta-based nonprofit with the mission of bringing communities and organizations together toward a common goal – curing cancer faster. Through an annual, fun bike ride, PaceDay celebrates the fundraising efforts of the Paceline community. All funds raised go to innovative cancer research at the Georgia Cancer Center.

(WRDW/WAGT) - Day One Fitness in Beech Island works to help those battling neurological conditions like Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s and early Dementia, Multiple Sclerosis, and stroke recovery patients. Nancy Carter has been in classes there for four months. “When I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s, my neurologist told me about Day One,” said Carter. “I was working at that time and just wasn’t able to get here.

Now, it’s a Farm Fresh Fall at the roadside produce stand. EVANS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - This year, several arcades featuring pinball and other classic games have popped up in our area. Radioactive Pinball Arcade in Aiken opened in August. Retro City Arcade in Evans is joining the others in our area. It opened in September with 26 arcade games and 20 pinball machines of a mix of classic and modern. Kathleen and Robert Owens told News 12 the reason they believe for the sudden interest in the game.
