1 Introduction One in 5 patients newly diagnosed with cancer is also the parent to at least one minor child [1, 2]. As early-onset cancers, defined as cancers in adults aged 18–49 years, increase across several disease sites (e.g., breast, stomach, and pancreas) and delayed parenthood continues to emerge as a global trend, the percentage of cancer patients caring for children under 18 years old is expected to grow [3, 4].
