Doors open at 9 a.m. and the bazaar will feature holiday gift items, grave blankets, bake sale and luncheon of homemade noodles. A Perrysburg man will spend two decades in prison for creating material that had a minor as a participant in sexual activity. Dustan Gerschutz, 36, was transferred from jail Oct. 31 to the courtroom of Wood County Common Pleas Judge Joel Kuhlman. He pleaded guilty in September to nine counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor and possessing criminal tools. Kuhlman imposed a minimum sentence of 20 years and a maximum indefinite sentence of 22.5 years.

WALBRIDGE – The Wood County District Public Library will take over the decorating of the city’s holiday tree in front of its facility. The library also will coordinate the tree lighting in November. “We’re taking over the event, we’re going to provide everything,” said library director Michael Penrod at the trustee’s September meeting, held in Walbridge. The event will be called BG Merry and Bright with the library planning events until Dec. 15.

PERRYSBURG – Penta Career Center is positioning itself to address regional workforce needs in the growing e-mobility industry. The center held a groundbreaking ceremony Monday at the construction site of its future e-mobility building on its Buck Road campus. “This project allows us to address emerging technology, such as the installation and maintenance of our electrical grid, and growing needs for vehicle charging stations,” said Penta Superintendent Ed Ewers.
