PARIS (NEXSTAR) – One of the most notable monuments in Paris is Notre Dame. The cathedral, which is more than 800 years old, sits on a small island called the Île de la Cité in the middle of the River Seine. In 2019, fire partially destroyed the cathedral. Since then, there’s been ongoing restoration and the spire of Notre Dame, topped by her cross, is once again erected. “By some sort of miracle, the stone structure of the cathedral held,” historian Virgile Demoustier told us.
