I felt the same during a sea trial of the 2025 AquaSport Center Console at the 2024 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show using the Avikus Neuboat system. Our pilot skillfully navigated through heavy traffic in the Intracoastal Waterway, as well as narrow canals filled with other boats undergoing trials. One difference: They were looking at the water; we were looking at a Raymarine screen. The radarlike image displayed nearby vessels, their proximity glowing red when close.

Most people don’t do sea trials of a 26’ boat in 5-6-foot seas, but Ryan Evans and Lucas Sockacki from Parma Marine in Parma, Ohio didn’t blink. They are used to the washing machine-like waters on Lake Erie, so heading out into Hillsboro Inlet on a chilly winter’s day didn’t phase them--they were in shorts and flip-flops with big grins on their faces.
