Overall, Sonoma State has the fourth highest fees — totaling $8,624 with tuition — according to a CSU cost of attendance breakdown of the 23 campuses. Other income for the facilities comes through conferences, events and rents paid by operators using space in the buildings.

When news broke in early March that the Trump administration was planning to cut some 80,000 jobs from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, North Bay veterans rushed to organize an impromptu rally outside the Santa Rosa VA outpatient clinic to protest. They’ve been returning every Friday, picking up support from other protest groups and building ties with veterans in other parts of the Bay Area along the way.

Top California lawmakers heaped heavy criticism Monday on Sonoma State University’s plan for a path forward out of its fiscal crisis, directing much of the blame at California State University leadership. “SSU is one of the greatest resources that our region has ever realized,” Senate President Mike McGuire said from the table of lawmakers who held their second legislative forum at the Rohnert Park campus.
