    Even though they’re around three decades too late to have lived through it themselves, The Last Dinner Party’s favorite decade of sound is the ’70s. The British indie rockers, whose sound, music, and style are heavily influenced by the rock era, shared their favorite ’70s inspirations with SPIN and Bose for our Decades of Sound collaboration. Three out of five TLDP members showcased their wide-ranging taste and knowledge of ’70s music, through naming various acts and influences.

    Singer and guitarist Jakob Nowell filled in some pretty big shoes when he became the frontman of reggae punk pioneers Sublime – his father’s. The late, great Bradley Nowell was one of the most influential singers of the ’90s, known for his California-bred stylings and distinct vocals. Talking with SPIN and Bose as part of our Decades of Sound collaboration series, Jakob says, in his “humble” opinion, that the most impactful decade of sound and music was none other than the ’90s.
