Dear Editor, We congratulate Morgan et al for addressing the challenges in managing paediatric group A streptococcal (GAS) infections, particularly the early recognition of invasive GAS (iGAS) and differentiation from viral infections. The 2022/23 surge in GAS infections in the UK led to the highest number of scarlet fever cases since the 1950s, with iGAS cases in children reaching a 20-year high.
