Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi started selling its first car, the SU7, earlier this year. Ford's CEO says the EV is "fantastic." Our reviewer says it looks good and delivers on performance too. The SU7 simply shouldn't drive this well given it's from a company that has not produced vehicles before.

While a majority of the region's Labour MPs voted in favour of Kim Leadbeater's private member's bill, none of the area's Conservative MPs voted in support. Mark Pritchard, Conservative MP for The Wrekin, expressed his concerns about the safeguards that were included in the Miss Leadbeater's bill during a debate in the Commons. But Warinder Juss, Labour MP for Wolverhampton West, voted in favour, despite his own personal opposition to assisted dying.

A pub which serves as the taphouse of a popular Black Country brewery has reopened following refurbishment. The pub chain recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. A new arch has been created to link the bar and function room at the pub which is run by the husband-and-wife team of Jonathan and Kirsty Reynolds, who took over in July.

The region is still reeling from last week's decision that Banks's Park Brewery in Wolverhampton is set to close next year, after 150 years. The Express & Star is now launching a campaign to encourage people to support the remaining brewers in the region by buying locally produced beers.
