Presumably, and perhaps fortunately, you are in a jurisdiction that doesn't require annual brake servicing, which would extend to about half the country (3/4 of North America). What would be your estimate of the maintenance costs for a 44,000 mile ICE? My guess is about $2,500, including a <questionable> tire replacement. It's certainly difficult to imagine it to be significantly more than $3,200. Not to mention be significantly ahead in terms of depreciation and financing costs.
