The Northern Irishman, 35, secured victory at the Masters to become only the sixth man to have won all four of golf's major championships. McIlroy had not won a major since the 2014 US PGA Championship - and his victory at Augusta sparked emotional and jubilant scenes.

The Israeli military has "nothing to hide" and is "thoroughly" investigating the fatal shooting of a convoy of aid workers by its forces in Gaza, an Israeli government spokesman has told Sky News. David Mencer said the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) opened fire "from a distance" at a convoy that was "moving suspiciously in their direction" on 23 March.

A former Trump supporter jailed over the US Capitol riots has said she's rejected the president's pardon after seeing through the "MAGA cult". Pamela Hemphill told Sky's The News Hour with it would be a "slap in the face to the rule of law, the Capitol police officers and to our nation". Mr Trump has pardoned about 1,500 supporters charged over the violence on 6 January 2021, which saw people storm the Capitol building in Washington to try to stop Joe Biden's victory being signed off.

Britain is now "directly involved" in the Ukraine war after its Storm Shadow missiles were used to strike targets inside Russia, according to Moscow's ambassador. Speaking to Sky News' Mark Austin, Russian ambassador to the UK Andrei Kelin also accused Ukraine of using mercenaries from different countries in the fighting. It comes after Western allies green-lit Ukraine's use of long-distance missiles to strike deep into Russia this week following months of requests from Kyiv.
