    What have been the growth areas for you in your media company in 2024? The New York Times has seen very positive growth in digital subscriptions. So far in 2024 we added half a million new digital subscribers in the first half of 2024 and we have more international readers than ever before turning to our journalism. This year, we surpassed two million digital subscribers outside the United States. What percentage of your revenue comes from advertising, subs, and others?

    Could you start by sharing some key areas of growth and challenges your media company has faced this year? Five years ago, we decided to balance our revenue streams between subscriptions and advertising. So far, the results have been much more positive on the advertising side. For instance, traditional print advertising has surprisingly started to grow since last year, driven by branded content and companies using print to express opinions on national debates or legislative matters.

    Overall, what have been the growth and encouragement areas for your media company in 2024? Like most players in the Danish market, we’ve been marked by the slowdown that has characterized media markets since the end of the Covid-19 period and the reopening of our society. Generally, the Nordic region is known for a high willingness to pay for media, but even here we’re seeing a more restrained interest in digital subscriptions compared to before.

    What have been the growth/encouragement areas for you in your media company in 2024? We achieved significant growth in the number of digital subscribers, enabling us to largely offset the decline in print subscriptions driven by shifting consumer behavior toward digital formats. Today, more than half of all Mediahuis subscribers engage with our content digitally or through a combination of print and digital. Our focus moving forward is on increasing the value of a digital subscription.
