    Dear Editor I fondly remember working for Mr Hurst, as did many of our trainees in the early 2000s. He was funny, bright, and non judgemental at a time when surgical training was (still is?) quite old school in style. He was good with patients. Notably, I recall his significant frustration with being messed around by management and how it would irritate him. Trips in his sports car to the general were fun. RIP
