The Patriots are adding more depth to their offensive line – and bringing back a familiar face. According to a source, the Patriots are signing veteran tackle Yasir Durant to a 1-year contract. Durant, 28, is coming off a successful stint in the United Football League where he won a championship with the DC Defenders. He also earned a spot on the All-UFL team after starting at left tackle. Now, Durant is coming back to New England.

Milton Williams was itching to get after the quarterback. The problem is that he wasn’t allowed to touch Drake Maye. After signing a massive contract with the Patriots in free agency, Williams is excited to show everyone what he can do on the defensive line. The team hopes the 26-year-old will make a major impact in their defense. After a successful spring, Williams planned to leave New England, return home, and get ready to put his pads on for training camp.

The first open Patriots practice of the week started poorly. After the first two 11-on-11 periods, Drake Maye was intercepted four times. That was more than he was as a rookie in four total open practices in 2024. FOXBOROUGH – Drake Maye was asked a question about recent draft picks TreVeyon Henderson and Kyle Williams. As he was talking about the second-and-third-round picks, Maye couldn’t help but speak about another impressive rookie on offense. “Chism has had about 50 catches, I feel like, in OTAs,” Maye said. “Those guys are coming to work and showing up.”The fact that Maye spoke about undrafted rookie receiver Efton Chism III while talking about higher draft picks spoke volumes.

FOXBOROUGH – For most newcomers, there’s a learning curve when playing in Josh McDaniels’ offensive system. Fortunately for the Patriots, Stefon Diggs isn’t like most newcomers. The 32-year-old came to New England this offseason with a solid foundation in the Patriots offensive system. From 2020 to 2021, Diggs played in a similar offense under then-Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll. On Tuesday, Diggs was asked if that scheme had any similarities to the one he’s in now with McDaniels.
