It has been surprising and deeply saddening to me how many times I have felt the need to say that fact over the past year. It has never been more important for political leaders in this country to speak with one voice in reassuring all Australians, no matter where they come from, or what they believe, that hatred and violence have no place here. We must continue to say it – but words alone are not enough.
