Alfreton Town have won the Derbyshire Senior Cup for the tenth time after seeing off National League North rivals Buxton at Chesterfield’s SMH Group Stadium on Tuesday night. The two sides couldn’t be separated in 90 minutes, a game of few clear cut chances ending 0-0, but the Reds prevailed 4-3 on spot kicks.

Chris Rawlinson says he’s determined to see things put right at Skegness Town next season as the Lilywhites continue to limp towards the end of this campaign. A 3-1 defeat at home to second-from-bottom Kimberley MW on Saturday was a fourth loss in six games. Adam Clayton was proud of his Matlock Town players’ efforts after they produced a fine display to win 4-0 at Hyde United on Saturday. The Gladiators remain in the relegation zone thanks to those above them also winning, making the three points gained as well as the boost to Matlock’s goal difference all the more important. And Clayton was delighted with how his players had responded to the disappointment of the home defeat to Morpeth Town a week earlier.

Matlock Town produced a fine performance to win 4-0 at Hyde United on Saturday and record their first away success since November. It was a crucial three points for the Gladiators in their relegation battle, particularly given results elsewhere weren’t in their favour and meant they remain three points from safety and in the relegation zone – three of the four relegation places now decided with Basford and Mickleover’s fate having been sealed at the weekend.

Matt Evans lamented his Sleaford Town side’s bad luck as they fell to a 4-2 defeat at home to fellow strugglers Gresley Rovers on Saturday. It was Sleaford’s first defeat in three games, but the Greens were hampered by an injury to goalkeeper Harrison Leech in the first-half which saw him forced off and replaced by outfield player Lewis Smalley. The result ultimately sees Sleaford now sitting just a point above the relegation zone with two games to play.

When Paul Reed took over at @LeightonTownFC in November they were languishing near the relegation zone. Fast forward to April and a remarkable run of form had them so close to challenging for the play-offs. I chatted with Reed about that and the future. https://t.co/2pruRZapxC

My wife (@kristendelivers) and I went to the House of Commons last week to recognise those who not only did so much to save our two youngest babies' lives when both were born premature, but also to help Kristen given the numerous complications. Our story is featured here.

Derbyshire mum Kristen has praised our maternity and neonatal staff at Royal Derby Hospital for their life-saving care of her two babies - saying she now has the family she "always dreamed of" 🤍 Read the full story on our website: https://t.co/kToP2Rgv7P https://t.co/DAW80R5pGC
