I swung my legs from under the blankets and reached for my slippers. The joy of the spring awakening turned to horror as I stared at my left foot. All five toes had turned black, and the big toe of the right foot was darkening. All six affected toes resembled chunks of barbecue coals. Shocked and dismayed, I awakened my wife Pat and began to dress.

When Jonathan was eight to ten years old, he held the world’s record for killing the biggest boar with a bow and arrow. His dad was an avid hunter and taught Jonathan how to use a bow and arrow. They would go all over the world game hunting. Jonathan had so much charisma, but he got into drugs at an early age. There was one point in time his parents didn’t know where he was for close to a year.

By Tré Goins-Phillips —Pastor and author John MacArthur has had a “slower than expected” recovery from a series of three surgeries that kept him out of the pulpit for much of 2024. The 85-year-old preacher has been the head pastor of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California, since February 1969, but, because of a host of health issues, he was away for more than half of the past year, according to GCC Elder Tom Patton, who updated the congregation on MacArthur’s condition Sunday.

By Ronald D. Mallett —Some years back my family lived in the Taconic Mountains, a 150-mile sub-range of the Appalachians running along the contiguous borders of New York and Connecticut. Our home base was Bethlehem, Ct., but we lived a few miles west of town on the Weekeepeemee River (for real). The terrain is cut with many gorges, river drop offs and steep inclines/declines.
