There’s a sense of optimism surrounding the new DCU that Superman will inaugurate this summer. James Gunn’s reboot universe already has some question marks, but surely anything would be an improvement over the old DCEU — the so-called Snyderverse was revered by hardcore fans, but to the rest of us, it was an increasingly dull slog through pointlessly grim tales. But we haven’t come here to bury the Snyderverse.

TORONTO – A frustrated Maple Leafs fan threw their jersey onto the ice during a crushing 6-1 playoff defeat to the Florida Panthers, which the Leafs promptly allowed to slide past them and into their own net. “And that’s another goal given up by Toronto,” the play-by-play announcer said, as the Leafs milled ineffectually around the jersey until it glided through goaltender Joseph Woll. As the game continued, several other thrown jerseys also confounded the Maple Leafs.
