    WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - Highs are set to top out in the mid to upper-80s, at least a few degrees ahead of our highs so far in 2025. Sunny skies and breezy southwest winds will allow us to warm up. Like the last couple of days, any sunshine will be fairly hazy. The smoke and hazy skies will continue due to the wildfire smoke from Canada. Along with the sunshine, we will be dealing with more Canadian wildfire smoke again today.

    WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - Mostly sunny skies will continue during daylight hours on Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures are expected to drop quickly tonight due to the dry air. Patchy frost mainly along and north of Hwy 29. Cold valley areas, even south of Hwy 29, could be in the mid-30°s early Sunday morning. A warning trend starts on Sunday, and temps close to 80° on Sunday afternoon. We’re still keeping an eye on storms for next week. These storms would arrive on Tuesday and continue through Wednesday.

    WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - Poor air quality continues for most of Wisconsin Friday, due to wildfire smoke from Canada. All of Wisconsin is under an Air Quality Alert through 6 AM Saturday morning, with slowly improving conditions arriving throughout the day Saturday. While some smoke could linger Saturday morning, smoke should move southwest of us and mostly out of our area, creating much better conditions for outdoor activities as skies clear. A pleasant and nice weekend.

    WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - Thursday will feature mainly cloudy skies, but there will also be some changes. First, highs will top out in the low to mid-70s today. Second, we could get a little bit of clearing in the Northwoods this afternoon. Third and finally, rain chances will be lower today than the last couple of days. Still, an isolated shower or sprinkle cannot be ruled out through this afternoon. Smoke and hazy conditions from Canadian wildfires on Friday morning and evening.

    WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - Thursday is trending more cloudy for most of the day now, but we could get some clearing later in the day closer to sunset. That being said, there will still be plenty of clouds in the skies by the time we get to the Diaper Drive at Paper City Savings Bank in Plover or for the home opener for the Wausau Woodchucks.
