BEABADOOBEE + MOMMA – BRIGHTON DOME 19.11.24Beabadoobee, better known to her parents as Beatrice Kristi Ilejay Laus, stops off at the Brighton Dome as part of her tour to promote her album ‘This Is How Tomorrow Moves’, which was released in August. Beabadoobee first came to wider attention in 2017. Support tours with The 1975 in 2018, and Taylor Swift on her Eras tour have massively increased her fanbase.

DEEP PURPLE + REEF – O2 ARENA, LONDON 6.11.24Back in the early 1970s, Deep Purple were part of the ‘holy trinity’ of British heavy rock. The other two similarly anointed bands were Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. In 2024 Deep Purple are the last band standing of those three, which is quite ironic as they were the first of the three bands to split up in 1976. However, they re-formed in 1984, by which time Led Zeppelin had ceased operating following the tragic death of drummer John Bonham.

The third theatrical production concerning the Post Office scandal came to London yesterday. Make Good played to a sold-out Omnibus Theatre in Clapham. The production is put together by a theatre company called Pentabus, with a script from Jeanie O’Hare and music and lyrics by Jim Fortune. Both write in the programme:“This project began with the human impact statements from the Inquiry, followed by a lot of legal and computer stuff.

CROWDED HOUSE + LIAM FINN – BRIGHTON CENTRE 12.10.24 Crowded House visit the Brighton Centre as part of their tour to promote their current album ‘Gravity Stairs’. Keeping things in the family, support comes from Neil Finn’s son Liam, who also plays guitar with Crowded House. Liam has an album coming out in November titled ‘Hyperverse’.

THE BUG CLUB – RESIDENT, BRIGHTON 29.8.24I’d just about got used to The Bug Club’s ‘Rare Birds: Hour Of Song’ album, released in October last year, when BAM!!! Here they are with another album!!! They’re becoming almost as prolific as Neil Young. The shortened version of the album title is ‘On The Intricate Inner Workings Of The System’, and it is their first album to be released on their new label, the absolutely legendary Sub Pop.
